SLIPPERY ROCK — Three Slippery Rock High School golfers have been named Distrct 10, Region 2 second team all-stars.

Senior Chad Green, junior Walker Allison and sophomore Logan Wolack received the honors.

[naviga:h3]BC3 hoop teams split vs. PSU-DuBois[/naviga:h3]

BUTLER TWP — Joel Stutz scored 37 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Monday as the Butler County Community College men’s basketball team defeated Penn State DuBois, 110-103.

Jace Stutz had 25 points for the Pioneers, Josh Knochel 24 points and 10 rebounds, Andrew Yonkers 21 points.

The BC3 women dropped a 74-63 decision despite 20 points and 27 rebounds from Mackenzie Craig. Carly Burdett had 15 points and Amanda Dorcy nine.

[naviga:h3]SRU’s Chapla earns PSAC grid honors[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University kicker Jake Chapla has been named PSAC West Special Teams Athlete of the Week.

Chapla booted a 32-yard field goal in The Rock’s 33-10 PSAC title game loss to West Chester. The boot tied SRU’s career field goal record of 35.

Chapla also had two punts that traveled more than 50 yards in blustery conditions.
