[naviga:h3]WPIAL grid games being televised[/naviga:h3]

The WPIAL’s championship football games will be televised locally.

The WPIAL announced that the six statewide games will be shown on a tape delay at 7 p.m. beginning Nov. 25 on PCN.

A different game will be shown each evening that week until the final game on Nov. 30.

The broadcast of the games is a result of a partnership with KDKA and Pittsburgh CW.

The Seneca Valley-Pine-Richland Class 6A title game will be played at 8 p.m. on Saturday.

That game will be broadcast live on Armstrong on the Pittsburgh CW channel, and rebroadcast on Nov. 28 on PCN.

[naviga:h3]Mars grad Castello gets MVP honors[/naviga:h3]

SHIPPENSBURG — Mars graduate John Castello, a junior on the Shippensburg University men’s basketball team, was named MVP of the Wolf’s Bus Lines Classic last weekend.

Castello scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Red Raiders’ 79-69 win over Lincoln. It marked Castello’s 18th career double-double.
