REMEMBERING THE FALLEN

Veterans Charles Bistransin, left, and George Gavula, both members of American Legion Post 778 and VFW Post 249, place a wreath at the Statue of the Silent Defender in Diamond Park in Butler during the Veterans Day parade on Nov. 11, 1986. The monument, which stands across from the county courthouse, honors all soldiers who died in combat since the Spanish-American War.
