Butler Police

Oct. 26 — Police charged Carl A. Tillander, 42, of Oakland Township with having suspected cocaine and marijuana in connection with an earlier traffic stop in the 300 block of South Sixth Street. Police said they pulled over Tillander about 5 p.m. Oct. 14 for driving a vehicle with an expired license plate.

The defendant turned over to police a plastic baggie containing suspected marijuana, and a marijuana pipe, according to court documents.

Police subsequently searched the vehicle and found another baggie with white powder in it. Tillander told police that it was cocaine, documents said.

Tillander is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Oct. 26 — Kelsey N. Lees, 27, of Evans City was charged with stealing a pair of sweat pants in September from a woman’s home in the 300 block of First Street.

The victim told police that she allowed Lees to stay with her Sept. 25 when the defendant allegedly took the clothing valued at $25, according to court documents.

Lees is charged with a third-degree misdemeanor count of theft.

1:41 a.m. Oct. 25 — Samuel W. Magill Jr., 37, of Saxonburg was found with empty suspected drug stamp bags after police stopped the pickup truck he was driving on Route 8 south at Mac’s Cafe. Police said they made the traffic stop because of a faulty license plate light on the truck.

Officers eventually conducted an inventory search of the vehicle, according to court documents, and found a cigarette pack containing several empty stamp bags.

Magill is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving a vehicle without insurance and a lighting violation.

Wednesday — A 16-year-old student was charged with using social media Oct. 31 to threaten another student at the Butler High School. Police did not identify the student, a boy, who is charged with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct in Butler County Court.

4:04 p.m. Nov. 5 — Mary Fierst, 60, of Butler allegedly struck a man in the face at the Walmart parking lot at Butler Commons. The man suffered a minor facial injury, according to a police report.

Police cited Fierst for harassment.

Sunday — Gerald Berry, 68, of Grove City was arrested for driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Maple Street. Police said her car was pulled over for a pair of traffic violations on West Main Street.

Berry was arraigned on charges of DUI, driving with a suspended license-DUI related, driving a vehicle without insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle with suspected registration, driving on the wrong side of the road and not using turn signals.

He is free on $10,000 unsecured bail.

Friday — Justin R. Frazier, 26, of Volant was arrested on charges he broke into a building on the 100 block of South Center Street and stole three bicycles valued at $4,000.

Frazier was arraigned on felony charges of burglary, trespass and theft, and two misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bail following arraignment.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Kittanning[/naviga:h3]

2:10 p.m. Tuesday — Two women were hurt in a one-vehicle wreck in South Buffalo Township. Arlene M. Clowes, 73, of Strattanville, the driver, and her passenger, Sybil S. Wein, 83, of Clarion, were taken to different Pittsburgh hospitals with unknown injuries.

Police said Clowes lost control of her car on Route 28 south about two miles south of exit 18.
