Monday — Police obtained an arrest warrant for Nathanual R. Wong, 37, stemming from an alleged domestic assault last week at his apartment on Third Avenue.

Wong is accused of hitting his girlfriend’s hand about 3 a.m. Friday as she tried to call 911 during with dispute, according to court documents. She told police the defendant also pushed and grabbed her, causing pain to her ribs.

The alleged victim later advised police that she went to the hospital Saturday for injuries in the incident, documents said, and was diagnosed with bruised ribs.

Wong is charged with simple assault.

6:17 p.m. Oct. 22 — Jennifer A. Young, 37, of Butler was found with three digital scales and other suspected drug contraband after police stopped the car she was riding in at West Diamond and Shore streets.

Police said they pulled over the car, which Young owns, because it did not have insurance. It turned out that the driver, Benjamin A. Mauthe, 35, of Butler, also had a suspended license.

A search of the car, according to court documents, turned up a small backpack that belonged to Young. In the pack were multiple syringes and drug packaging materials.

Also in the vehicle, police said, were three small scales, two crack pipes and additional drug packaging baggies.

Young is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Police cited Mauthe for driving with a suspended license.

Friday — Tyler J. Vaughan, 24, and Amanda A. Young, 23, both of Petrolia were charged with selling five leased items valued at $3,215.22 in July. Rent-A-Center at Butler Commons owns the property.

Vaughan and Young are both charged with theft of leased property and conspiracy. Additionally, Vaughan is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities.

Oct. 25 — A Clarion County man was arraigned on charges in connection with a more than $6,000 theft case that dates back about two years.

Police said Arthur W. Kaufman, 49, of Clarion previously brought his minivan into Baglier Buick GMC on Route 8 south for a repair job. But when the work was done he refused to pay his bill, which totaled $6,367.16, according court documents.

Kaufman, instead, police said, kept two checks from his insurance company that were intended as reimbursement for the repairs. Baglier eventually notified police Sept. 5 to report the van as abandoned.

Kaufman was arraigned on felony charges of theft of services and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds, and a summary charge of abandoning a vehicle on private property. He was released on his own recognizance following arraignment.

1:34 a.m. Saturday — Jessika Caldwell, 21, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after police found her passed out at the wheel of a vehicle at a green light on West Pine Street.

Officers smelled a “strong odor” of an alcohol and marijuana come from the vehicle, according to a police report. Caldwell had to be awakened and she showed signs of impairment.

Police said she is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

8:08 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Madison M. Zaborowski, 23, of Oakdale, Allegheny County, struck the side of a pickup truck at Route 68 and Eagle Mill Road in Connoquenessing Township. The truck, driven by Kaleb P. Gandy, 18, of Connoquenessing, rolled onto its side.

Both drivers suffered “possible injury,” according to a police report. Butler Ambulance Service was called but neither driver was apparently taken to the hospital.

6:28 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Donald L. Reiland, 63, of Harrisville struck a deer on Route 108 in Slippery Rock Township. Reiland was not injured but his car had to be towed.

Saturday — An unknown thief stole a handgun from a 48-year-old man’s unlocked vehicle in Connoquenessing Township. The theft happened between 4 p.m. Oct. 25 and 11 a.m. Saturday.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.

Saturday — Six unlocked vehicles were broken into overnight in Center Township. The thefts happened at Foxhollow Estates and Sunburst Court and on Lazella Drive.

Police said cash and change and women’s shoes were taken from the vehicles between 11 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

6:37 a.m. Friday — No one was injured when a trailer became unhitched from a Mack truck on Route 422 in Clearfield Township. Police said Craig E. McDonald, 54, of Butler was eastbound traveling up a hill just west of Old Route 422 east when the trailer detached itself from the truck.

McDonald pulled onto the side of the road and the trailer rolled over. A police report blamed equipment failure for the crash.

Friday — Richard R. Jefferson, 41, of Cherry Township, a registered sexually violent predator, was arraigned on charges he failed to report his personal information with police in accordance with Megan’s Law.

Police said Jefferson did not verify his address or have his photograph updated Oct. 30.

He was arraigned on a felony charge of failure to comply with registration of sexual offender requirements. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail following arraignment.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Kittanning[/naviga:h3]

1:09 p.m. Monday — Two people were hurt when a car struck a tree and gas line on Glade Run Road in North Buffalo Township.

The driver, Viola J. Klingensmith, 46, and one of her passengers, Brianna N. Hogue, 23, both of Cadogan, were taken to ACMH in East Franklin Township with apparent minor injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.

Police said Klingensmith lost control of her car traveling south and traveled off the east side of the road. The car struck a tree and embankment before hitting and rupturing a gas line. A Peoples Gas crew was called and shut off the broken line.

Two girls, ages 2 and 4, were also in the car but neither was injured. Both girls were in child safety seats. The car had to be towed.

Klingensmith was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.

9:34 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Laura L. Adams 49, of Brockway, Jefferson County, struck a deer on Route 28 north just north of Horseshoe Drive in South Buffalo Township. Adams, who was not wearing a seat belt, was not hurt but her car had to be towed.

2:25 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Linda L. Venesky, 72, of Cowansville rear-ended another car on Route 268 just north of East Brady Road in East Franklin Township. Arlene M. Reitler, 78, of Kittanning was the other driver.

No injuries were reported but Venesky’s car had to be towed. Police cited Venesky for driving at an unsafe speed.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Mercer[/naviga:h3]

Friday — Police reported that someone last month left behind car keys and a bag containing money and marijuana at the Vanity Fair store at Premium Outlets in Springfield Township. The property was found about 8:35 p.m. Oct. 22 but a police report provided no other details about the ongoing investigation
