8:11 a.m. Oct. 25 — James Brady, 68, of Butler was charged with harassment after a passionate political debate he was having with someone at the McDonald’s in Greater Butler Mart got violent and he tried to hit the victim, according to police.

12:05 p.m. Oct. 20 — Police charged Joseph Legault, 78, of Butler with defiant trespassing after entering a Walmart despite receiving a notice of trespass previously from the store.

1:16 a.m. Oct. 11 — Dalton Wienand, 23, of Butler was charged with drunken driving after police said they noticed him stopped at the scene of a fire on Whitestown Road.

Oct. 31 — Samuel G. Geibel, 24, of Butler was charged with three counts of drunken driving after police stopped him for traffic violations on Oct. 27.

4:22 a.m. Oct. 24 — Police said Garrett L. Shaw, 24, of Stoneboro drove over a dead deer on Interstate 79, disabling his car. Police said the vehicle had to be towed.

7:01 p.m. Oct. 9 — Police said a deer ran in front of a car driven by Daniel S. Mummendey, 38, of Sewickley while he was driving on South Benbrook Road. Police said no one was injured and the vehicle was towed.

Oct. 23 — Police charged Kyle K. Ficklin, 25, of Slippery Rock with felony retail theft. On Sept. 15, police investigated the claims of a T-Mobile store owner claiming employees had been stealing money from the business. Police said Ficklin was interviewed at the Cranberry Township Police Department and admitted to reducing the prices of various items in the system when selling them to customers. He told police that he would pocket the difference. Police said Ficklin stole $20,799.69 using the scheme.
