3:03 p.m., Oct. 27 — Police said Meredith Best, 66, of Knox stopped short when a car in front of him stopped short, resulting in Jennifer Herold, 28, of Sarver rear ending Best’s car on the passenger side with her Ford F150. There were no injuries, according to a police report. The crash took place on Oneida Valley Road in Allegheny Township.

11:19 a.m., Oct. 27 — Police said Betty Zebegan, 80, of New Castle was merging onto Interstate 79 in her car when she failed to yield to traffic and struck a vehicle driven by Alison Narvet, 41, of Baden. There were passengers in both vehicles. No injuries were reported, police said.

2:26 a.m., Oct. 27 — Christopher George Zulick, 47, of Butler was arrested after police stopped him for an unspecified traffic violation near the North Main Street exit on South Benbrook Road and he was suspected of drunken driving. Police said charges are pending.

9:26 p.m., Oct. 26 — Police said Stephen E. Carson, 29, of Renfrew was arrested for suspicion of drunken driving after a traffic stop in the 100 block of South McKean Street in Butler.

6:36 p.m., Oct. 25 — Police said Ryan Lage, 32, of Renfrew was arrested for suspected drunken driving after he lost control of his car on Mars Evans City Road. He hit a fire hydrant and then continued into a house, damaging his car and the house in the process. Lage wasn’t injured in the crash, police said.

Oct. 25 — Someone purchased two puppies from a Center Township woman using counterfeit money, state police said.

1:33 p.m., Oct. 27 — Police said Tammy Palmeri, 44, of Butler lost control of her car on Delwood Road and hit a car being driven by Billy Stewart, 33, of Butler. There were two passengers in the car with Stewart and everybody involved was taken Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Palmeri was charged with careless driving and a seat belt violation, according to a police report.

5:33 a.m., Oct. 27 — Police said Elizabeth D. Main, 19, of Wampum had a minor accident on Mercer Road. When police went to investigate they found that she had beer in her backseat and charged her with purchase of alcohol by a minor.

8:11 a.m., Oct. 27 — Cara Swartz, 33, of Kittanning struck a guard rail along the westbound lane of Route 422 near the Route 8 exit, according to police. No injuries were reported but her vehicle had to be towed, according to a report.

3:24 p.m., Oct. 6 — Samantha B. Miller, 24, and Mark Hauserman, 23, both from Butler, were charged with two counts of retail theft and criminal conspiracy. According to police, the two allegedly stole $254.25 worth of goods from Walmart. Police said Miller returned to the store later and refunded the goods. They are both due in court in December.
