[naviga:h3]BC3 volleyball unbeaten in league[/naviga:h3]

BUTLER TWP — Makenzie McDowell had five kills and nine aces Friday as the Butler County Community College women’s volleyball team defeated Pennsylvania Highlands, 3-0.

The Pioneers (14-5, 10-0) won the match 25-6, 25-9, 25-11.

Maddie Morella had five kills and Emily Magusiak contributed nine digs. The Dig Pink match was part of BC3’s fundraising campaign and raised $3,500 for breast cancer research.

The Pioneers host Penn State New Kensington at 6 p.m. Monday.

Luke Ostermeyer finished second individually with an 85-82-167 and the Butler County Community College golf team won its sixth consecutive Western Pa. Collegiate Conference championship at The Links at Spring Church over the weekend.

The Pioneers carded a 701 as a team. Tyler Johnson shot a 174, Mars graduate Tom Schall a 176, Kyle Mudger and Butler graduate Shawn Gray a 191.
