Griffin Unruh, a marketing major from Mars, was named a Solar Ambassador at Coastal Carolina University, Conway, S.C.

Solar Ambassadors for the 2018-2019 academic year were chosen to partner with nonprofit organizations in the Myrtle Beach area that are looking for sustainable development and energy sources.

Students are required to take a six-credit hour course and log an hour of outside work weekly.

Alexis Foran of Freeport was recently initiated into Phi Kappa Phi. Foran was initiated at the University of Findlay, Baton Rouge, La.

Foran is among about 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year.

Membership is by invitation and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.
