Jury sent home after man pleads to drug possession charges

Taalibe Glover of Pittsburgh arrested in Butler drug bust.

Taalibe A. Glover, 24, decided to plead guilty Tuesday to drug possession charges despite having a jury trial scheduled that same day to hear his case.

The Wilkinsburg man, who police suspect is a drug trafficker, pleaded guilty to two cases drug possession charges. In total, Glover is facing four separate cases, all of which are related to drugs.

This case is in connection with a drug arrests in Butler on Dec. 11, 2016 and Oct. 10, 2017.

Butler police said they arrested Glover and another Allegheny County man following a traffic stop on Center Avenue and after searching the two police found ecstasy and marijuana.

Glover has been in Butler County Prison since police arrested him last year for allegedly selling heroin to a police informant at the Greater Butler Mart in Butler.

In a previous court appearance, Glover's arraignment was canceled after he began yelling at District Judge William Fullerton, who was presiding over the proceeding. After being taken to a conference room in back of the courtroom, authorities said, the defendant started banging his head against a wall and was eventually taken back to the jail.
