JACKSON TWP — More than 100 students at Seneca Valley High School earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their achievement on AP Exams.

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program (AP) provides students with the opportunity to take college-level courses while still in high school and to earn college credit, advanced placement or both.

The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on performance on AP Exams.

At Seneca Valley Senior High School, one student, Brandon Garzez, a 2018 graduate, earned a National AP Scholar Award in 2018 which is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.

Seneca Valley also has 39 students who qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. These students include 2018 graduates Williams Adams, Maya Albanowski, Wesley Bodnar, Alexandra Bolena, Caleb Cekella, Jun Ryul Choi, Shane Conklin, Alexander Dixon, Sarah Donnelly, Matthew Gallup, Alexander Garcia, Brandon Garzez, Jocelyn Kavanagh, Mark Kunkel, Kelsey Majeski, Jason Moore, Maxwell Moore, Jeremy O’Connor, Miya Paserba, Sofia Salgado, Robert Stoffa, Timothy Tierney and Dmitri Zalnasky and 2018 seniors Madeline Arvanitas, Katherine Bablak, Victoria Beck, Shawn Bliss, Katherine Clark, Jacob Geil, Jason Geyer, Kenneth Hess, Jarrett Johnston, Ryan Lipscomb, Nicholas Lorance, Scott McElhinny, Sneha Padamati, Brooke Raschke, Rishin Sharma and Brian Vogel.

Nineteen Seneca Valley students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. These students are 2018 graduates Anna Althouse, Bryce Corrigan, Jaime Diorio, Jackson Dubreucq, Paul Grewar, Madeline Newell, Antonio Pagano, Luke Peffer, Shane Raible, Kyle Shank, Malik Talaat and Joanna Valentas as well as2018 seniors Tiffany Eaton, Bradley Hartman, Mariah Harvin, Mark Hemmerlin, Ella Lunney, Mathew Muir and Mark Trotta.

Also, 62 Seneca students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Exams with scores of 3 or higher. The AP Scholars include 2018 graduates Andrew Bachik, Joshua Bannon, Anna Bassin, Rebecca Bayne, Matthew Beggy, Erika Bender, Tara Bhatia, Allison Brazer, Kevin Chen, Cameron Comack, Sarah Donaldson, Elizabeth Fronk, Sophia Gaguzis, Sarah Hurst, Isabella King, Matthew Kraynik, Kyler Lin, Helena Matusiak, Erin McCarthy, Haylie McSwaney, Erika Moeller, Peyton Moore, Carter Moriarity, Katherine Mortier, Connor Quiggle, Christian Resch, Shannon Romano, Ryan Ross, Vincent Semrau, Ryan Stelitano and Thomas Zugell and 2018 seniors Katherine Adams, Martina Beggy, Maureen Bricker, Nicole Buchek, Rachel Covell, Rebekah Cox, Haley Davinsizer, Sophia Fatschel, Savannah Glover, Travis Hughes, Logan Koontz, Jordan Kyle, Sydni McConnell, Megan Mitchell, Michael Morrone, Matthew Mularski, Gregory O’Connor, Anna Rickabaugh, Griffin Ring, Sydni Roller, Jonathan Simoes, Jacob Stebbins, Cassandra Steighner, Matthew Stenglin, David Tkatch, Alyssa Tollerton, Stephen Vandrak, Kathleen Yellin and Zachary Zajacs as well as 2018 juniors Nishant Jayachandran and Irvin Smith.
