Sept. 10 — Charleen R. McConnell, 27, of Butler was charged with having drugs and other contraband stemming from a call for a domestic dispute Aug. 24 at Old Plank Estates.

McConnell is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

6:52 p.m. Sept. 7 — Heather M. Crawford, 35, of Butler was stopped for allegedly shoplifting $441.95 in merchandise at the Butler Commons’ Walmart.

Crawford is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft. She also was cited for a summary offenses, defiant trespass and disorderly conduct.

3:36 p.m. Sept. 7 — Police said Derek J. Ezatoff, 26, of Butler was found with suspected heroin and other contraband after he was found slumped over in a vehicle at Sam’s Club at Moraine Pointe Plaza.

Ezatoff is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.

Sept. 7 — Amber A. Speakman, 19, of Butler allegedly failed to pay for $79.88 in merchandise at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. She is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.

12:55 a.m. Friday — Jeremiah Turner, 36, of Harrisville was allegedly driving drunk on North Broad Street when police say he was stopped for having an expired registration on the vehicle. Turner is charged with driving under the influence and driving an unregistered vehicle.

3:18 p.m. Tuesday — Police said a car driven by Lawrence J. Werries, 59, of Springdale pulled from a stop sign and struck another car at Old Route 422 and Clearfield Road in Clearfield Township. Kristeen D. Lucas, 33, of Templeton was the other driver.

Police cited Werries for a stop sign violation.

Sept. 13 — Police charged Jeffrey W. Root, 59, of Gibsonia with being more than twice the state’s legal limit for alcohol stemming from a traffic stop June 18 on Route 8 in Center Township. He was pulled over, police said, for abrupt braking and twice crossing the white fog lines.

Root admitted he had been drinking vodka, according to court documents, and he showed impairment during field sobriety testing. A breath test later showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.169 percent. A level of 0.08 percent in Pennsylvania is considered intoxicated.

In addition to driving under the influence, he is charged with disregarding traffic lane and careless driving.

Sept. 12 — Brian J. Miller, 29, of Slippery Rock was charged with driving on drugs in connection with a one-vehicle crash in July in Slippery Rock Township. Police said the wreck happened about 2:15 a.m. July 18 when the defendant’s pickup truck struck a utility pole along Route 173.

By the time police got to the crash scene, according to court documents, an ambulance crew has already taken Miller to Grove City Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

Police went to the hospital and spoke to Miller, who admitted he “uses heroin and had used cocaine and heroin two days ago,” documents said. He agreed to a blood draw for a blood test.

Toxicology results later showed he had several drugs in his system including amphetamine, methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and marijuana.

Miller is charged with multiple counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, careless driving, failing to keep right and disregarding traffic lanes.

State Police, Clarion

Tuesday — Lois L. Libecco, 54, of Parker was charged with driving drunk with a 3-year-old boy in her vehicle following a traffic stop earlier this month in Perry Township, Clarion County.

Police said Libecco was stopped about 5:05 p.m. Sept. 2. She was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and later placed in the Clarion County Jail for a probation violation.

In addition to DUI, she is charged with child endangerment, driving with s suspended license-DUI related, driving without a license, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes and failing to secure a child in a safety seat.
