[naviga:h3]Fall festivals this weekend[/naviga:h3]

The Butler Fall Festival this year will feature live music, arts, crafts, food and children’s activities from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday on Main Street.

The event is held rain or shine. Part of Main Street will be closed.

Also Saturday is the Slippery Rock VillageFest, which will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Slippery Rock.

Food and crafts will be featured rain or shine during this 16th annual event.

[naviga:h3]Nature, wildlife art continues[/naviga:h3]

About 70 pieces of artwork are now on display in the Nature and Wildlife Show at The Butler Art Center, 344 S. Main St.

The exhibit is running through Oct. 6.

The Art Center is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is free. Call 724-283-6922 or visit ButlerArtCenter.org.

[naviga:h3]Dementia play this weekend[/naviga:h3]

“Absence, A Play About Dementia” will be staged Friday through Sunday at the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.

Presented by Newhaven Court at Clearview, the play by Peter Floyd follows the life of 74-year-old Helen Bastion, as she begins to suffer lapses of memory and words lose their meaning and reality fragments.

The play is directed by Larry Stock of BC3’s Succop Theater and includes a cast of experienced actors from the area.

[naviga:h3]Film with live music planned[/naviga:h3]

A showing of the classic silent film “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” with live music will be presented Oct. 20 by Slippery Rock University and the Blackwood Theater Organ Society.

The music will be performed by Dave Wickerham.

The concert and screening will start at 2 p.m. at the Blackwood estate in Harrisville.

[naviga:h3]German market set Nov. 10, 11[/naviga:h3]

The annual German Christmas market in Harmony will be Nov. 10 and 11 at the Harmony Museum and around town.

Music, dance performances, food and vendors with a German theme are featured.

[naviga:h3]Rendezvous scheduled[/naviga:h3]

The National Rendezvous and Living History Foundation will have the 42nd annual Eastern Primitive Rendezvous from Friday through Sept. 29 at Cooper’s Lake Campground, 205 Currie Road, Worth Township.

Visitors can attend from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday to experience the sights and sounds from the 1640s to the 1840s.

Among the demonstrators will be fur trappers, frontier families, American Indians, and re-enactors of the Revolutionary War and the French and Indian War.

[naviga:h3]MTG to begin with ‘Cline”[/naviga:h3]

The Musical Theatre Guild will begin its 57th season with “Always ... Patsy Cline” running Oct. 12 to 14 at the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.

Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12 and 13 and at 3 p.m. Oct. 14.

The show is based on the true story of Cline’s friendship with Houston housewife and avid fan Louise Seger. Songs include “Anytime,” “Walkin’ After Midnight,” “She’s Got You,” “Sweet Dreams” and “Crazy.”
