Mars' Bowes keys XC wins over NH, Butler

Mars runner Zachary Leachman leads the pack during a cross country meet with Butler and North Hills Tuesday at Mars Middle School. Leachman wound up winning the boys race.

Mars' Zach Leachman and McKenna Bowes placed first in the boys and girls event, respectively, in a cross country meet against Butler and North Hills Tuesday afternoon.

On the girls' side, Bowes came in at 20 minutes, 53 seconds, leading the Planets to a 27-28 win over Butler and a 19-38 victory over North Hills.

Butler's Chelsey Kabel was third overall at 21:57, helping the Golden Tornado to a 17-41 win over North Hills.

Leachman bested the boys with a time of 17:02. The Planets defeated North Hills 16-47, but fell to Butler 26-30. The Golden Tornado were paced by Aden Dressler, who finished second overall at 17:48. Butler also defeated North Hills 15-48.
