KC girls soccer rolls to 11-0 win

Hunter Dittman and McKenna Lavella scored three goals each Saturday as the Karns City girls soccer team blanked Keystone, 11-0.

Olivia Rumbaugh added two goals for the Gremlins (3-1) while Brooke Stahlman had two goals and an assist, Maura King one goal. Dittman also had an assist.

Other KC assists came from Breanna Tomsey, Olivia Coyle, Alexis Fennell, Rossi McMillen, Alyson Fennell and Cambree Powers.

Karns City hosts Forest on Monday.

North Catholic 5, Knoch 4 (2OT) — The Trojanettes scored the winning goal with 1:19 left in the second overtimed.

Lindsie Galbreath scored two goals for Knoch. Heather Wittmer and Shiann Thomas both added a goal and assist.

Maddi Boyer and Melanke McCallip assisted on Knoch goals and Lauren Galbreath made five saves.

Knoch hosts Hampton on Monday.

Boys Soccer

Hunter Hardin's 30-yard direct kick found the net midway through the second half, giving Freeport a 2-1 victory over Shady Side Academy.

Cole Bennick scored the other goal for the Yellowjackets (5-2, 2-1), off an assist from Stevie Teorsky. Luke Heider had eight saves as Freeport won its third straight game.

Butler 3, Allderdice 0 — Tate Mohney had a goal and assist for the Golden Tornado. Emery Douthett and Donovan Uber also scored for Butler.

Austin Goepfert was in goal for the shutout.

Kiski Area 4, Knoch 2 — Jeremiah Smith and Mark Fuhrer scored goals for the Knights.

Karns City 3, Keystone 0 — Austin Fahlor scored all three goals for the Gremlins (4-0). Jake Weckerly made two saves in getting the shutout.

Volleyball

Butler placed second at the Plum Tournament, losing 2-0 to North Catholic in the finals.

Maria Lucas had 18 kills and Sophia Sacriponte 17 for Butler, which plays Monday at Mars.
