YMCA hires new executive director

The Butler County Family YMCA has promoted Sandra Ihlenfeld to the executive director position.

The Butler County Family YMCA has promoted Sandra Ihlenfeld to the executive director position following the resignation of Francine Mills.

Ihlenfeld began her career at the YMCA in 1996 as an exercise instructor and personal trainer, and most recently served as vice president of organizational advancement.

She will replace Mills who resigned last week to accept another job. Mills' resignation is effective Sept. 28.

“With her resignation, the Butler YMCA has had an opportunity to look at the strength of its staff and reorganize in a way that helps the organization continue to meet its strategic goals and move toward continued growth,” said Connie Downs, marketing and communications director.

In other personnel moves, Jill Zoria will handle additional responsibilities while continuing to oversee the YMCA's financial development. She will leverage her 20 years of marketing strategy experience to help develop and execute initiatives that will increase brand recognition, revenue and profitability.

Downs will continue to focus on communications and will assume responsibilities in managing the website and social media.
