Law enforcement agencies commemorate resolution of 1980's murder of Saxonburg chief

FBI Special Agent Tommy MacDonald presented current chief Joe Beachem with a framed copy of the wanted poster of Chief Adams' killer, Donald Eugene Webb, with "RESOLVED" printed in red ink on the poster's face.

Members of the law enforcement agencies that collaborated to solve the 1980 murder of Saxonburg Police Chief Greg Adams met on Saturday at the Saxonburg police station, where FBI Special Agent Tommy MacDonald presented current chief Joe Beachem with a framed copy of the wanted poster of Adams' killer, Donald Eugene Webb, with "RESOLVED" printed in red ink on the poster's face.

MacDonald also gave Beachem a black and gold baseball bat made in Webb's hometown of Fall River, Mass. that reads "Until It's Done" with the date of Adams' murder, Dec. 4, 1980 and the date when Webb's skeletal remains were found by police outside his home on July 13, 2017. The logos of the FBI, Pennsylvania State Police and Massachusetts State Police are also stamped onto the bat, along with "Donald Eugene Webb-fugitive."

Webb murdered Adams during a traffic stop and remained hidden in his home for 37 years until police discovered a secret room in his wife's house in Massachusetts where they suspected Webb had been hiding. His skeletal remains were found on the property shortly after the discovery. His wife admitted to investigators that Webb had killed Adams, but not before Adams broke Webb's ankle and bit off part of his lower lip.

MacDonald will be the keynote speaker this evening at the state police retiree dinner to be held in Cranberry Township. MacDonald will give a presentation on the Webb case.
