Warriors can't get out of early hole

Moniteau falls behind in 1st quarter in 36-14 loss to Ridgway

Moniteau fell into a 20-0 hole in the first quarter and could never crawl out of it in a 36-14 road loss to Ridgway Friday night.

Not much went right for the Warriors (1-2).

Moniteau, which had rushed for 500 yards in its first two games, was held to just 114.

Trent Kelly led the Warriors with 51 yards rushing.

Cody Wise was held to 30 yards.

Chance Nagy was 3-of-9 passing for 29 yards. He connected with Isaac Blum for a 10-yard touchdown.

Wise had six tackles on defense and also forced a fumble. Nick Martino had seven tackles.

Curwensville 14, Union/A-C Valley 13 — Senior fullback Nolan Cumberland rushed for 58 yards and two touchdowns, but Union/A-C Valley was edged on the road.

Joe Dehart led a staunch defensive effort with five tackles and two sacks for the Falcon Knights (1-2, 0-2). Colby Best added eight tackles and Brady Cullen seven.

Boys Golf

Brayden Setnar shot a 39 and teammate Chris Huff added a 42 as Butler earned a 221-242 victory over Shaler Friday afternoon.
