2 injured in motorcycle accident Saturday
The first charity ride organized by the New Kensington Eagle Riders didn't go as planned on Saturday when a rider and passenger aboard a Harley-Davidson Fatboy were injured on Pittsburgh Road near the end of the General Butler Bridge.
A rider in the 24-motorcycle group said the 94-mile ride was organized to raise money for the Westmoreland County Humane Society.
He said two bikes went down as they slowed for a red light and their wheels locked up on the slick roadway.
One rider was uninjured, but the man and woman on the Fatboy were transported at 1 p.m. to Butler Memorial Hospital by Butler Ambulance.
The charity ride continued after the accident.
