Overtime goal lifts Tornado

Mohney finds net as Butler wins 3-2

Tate Mohney scored his second goal of the game with just seconds left in the first overtime, lifting Butler to a 3-2 boys soccer victory over Central Catholic Thursday night.

Landon Mohney netted Butler's first goal of the game.

Karns City 6, Clarion-Limestone 1 — Austin Fahlor and Dakota King both netted two goals for Karns City.

Also scoring for the Gremlins were Brayden Christie and Josh Wimer. Nate Rondinelli had three assists.

Mount Pleasant 6, Freeport 1 — Hunter Hardin scored for the host Yellowjackets (2-1, 1-1).

Girls Soccer

A deflection set up the only goal of the game as Harbor Creek beat Slippery Rock 1-0.

Girls Volleyball

Bryn Davis had nine kills and five service aces and Dominka Logue added 10 kills as Union downed Moniteau 19-25, 25-11, 25-11, 25-20.

Morgan Cumberland had 21 assists and Marli Hawk 10 passes for the Damsels (1-1).

No individual stats were provided for the Warriors (1-1).

West Middlesex 3, Slippery Rock 2 — Morgan Malinski had 20 assists and six kills, but the Rockets fell just short in a five-set 21-25, 25-23, 25-23, 20-25, 5-15 loss.

Chyenne Ragle added 10 kills and Annika Peale nine for Slippery Rock, which also got 21 digs from Lex Prementine, 18 digs from Taylor Balint and five blocks from Tiffany Madison.

Knoch 3, Hampton 0 — Kennedy Christy tallied 12 kills and 10 service points in this sweep on the road.

Skylar Burkett added 10 kills and Hannah Rowe nine kills for the Knights, who won by scores of 25-18, 25-12 and 25-14.

Freeport 3, Derry 0 — Ally DeJidas had 16 kills and 14 digs as the Yellowjackets won 28-26, 25-22, 25-19.

Lauren Lampus added eight kills and Mackensey Jack seven service points and five kills.

Freshman Erica Lampus also had a strong night with 17 digs.

Girls Tennis

Sabrina Dunlap, Haley Davinsizer and Sneha Padamati each won in singles play as Seneca Valley cruised to a 5-0 section win over visiting North Hills.

Butler's Paige Scott came in with a 40 to lead the Golden Tornado to a 187-204 victory over Shaler.

Maggie Feczko and Landis Ruth both added a 48 for Butler.

Moniteau scored a 235 to tie Forest Area for first place at Tuesday's KSAC MegaMatch at Clarion Oaks.

Ethan McDeavitt fired a 42 to lead the Warriors.

Karns City was paced by Josh Whitmire's 47. The Gremlins placed fifth with a score of 259.

Slippery Rock placed 15th out of 19 teams at the North Hills Invitational in Corry.

The Rockets totaled 381 strokes. McDowell won the event with 310 strokes.

Scoring for the Rockets were Chad Green (86), Logan Wolak (90), Elijah McClymonds (102) and Jack Hadley (103).

Junior Varsity

Seneca Valley swept North Hills, 5-0, with singles victories coming from Vibha Hodachalli, Megan Bablak and Grace Abbott.

Doubles teams of Sienna Summers/Kailey McCune and Grace Zulick/Payton Riddle also earned a win.
