Injured man was not mill employee
BUTLER TWP — A man who was hit in the face by an unknown object on Monday morning and airlifted from the area of AK Steel property to Allegheny General Hospital was not a mill employee, according to the company's corporate spokesman.
Lisa Jester told the Eagle in an email that the man “was on property leased from us by a contract firm, and is a contract employee who was not doing work on behalf of AK Steel at the time.”
She said because the man is not an employee, the company had no further information on his injury or condition.
Butler Ambulance responded to the scene and assisted the man before he was taken by helicopter to the Pittsburgh hospital.
