[naviga:h3]‘Fireman’s Jubilee’ opens[/naviga:h3]

Freeport Theatre Festival’s 29th summer season continues with “Rivertown Fireman’s Jubilee,” a drama set to an original score by Drew Fennell and Rennick Steele, opening Friday.

Curtain is at 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday and Aug. 17-19 and 24-26.

General admission is $15. Those in the military as well as those 65 and older pay $12, and students pay $10. Call 724-295-1934.

Plays take place at the Steele Farm, 2498 White Cloud Road, two miles south of Freeport off Route 356 in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County.

[naviga:h3]Cruise back in Butler Sunday[/naviga:h3]

The Rodfathers of Butler car club is hosting a second Cruise-A-Palooza of the year Sunday in Butler.

The other such cruise was in June at the Farm Show grounds.

With hours Sunday from noon to 7 p.m., Cruise-A-Palooza II will take place on Main Street between Pearl and Jefferson streets.

DJs will be set up on Main Street and vendors will be selling food.

The Butler Farm Show concludes Saturday at the show grounds on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township.

Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Featured are animal and agricultural exhibits, live music, truck and tractor pulls, auctions and demonstrations. Tickets are $8.

[naviga:h3]NW Rodeo scheduled[/naviga:h3]

The North Washington Rodeo is scheduled to go on Tuesday through Aug. 18 at the rodeo grounds on Route 38 in North Washington.

The event takes place rain or shine.

Gates open at 6 p.m., and the rodeo starts at 8 p.m.

Dinners are available each night at the Social Hall at the rodeo grounds starting at 4:30 p.m.

,h3>Program talks of Biddle boys[/naviga:h3]

Bill May will present “The Biddle Boys — The Escape, Capture and Death of Butler County’s Most Notorious Outlaws” at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 16, as part of the Butler County Parks and Recreation discovery series.

The talk and slide show about the county’s “Most Notorious Outlaws” will take place in the Carousel Shelter at Alameda Park, 184 Alameda Park Road.

Admission is free.
