Butler Police on Thursday obtained an arrest warrant for Christopher L. Beck, 36, of Jackson Township on charges in connection with a June fight on Liberty Street that left another man seriously injured.

Beck is charged aggravated assault, a felony.

Police said they were called to a home on the 300 block of Liberty Street for a fight. Officers found the victim “severely bleeding” from the mouth, according to court documents.

The injured man told police that Beck attacked him over a disagreement about a lost wallet. He recounted that he fell to the ground after the defendant hit him in the face, documents said. The victim said he briefly lost consciousness.

When the man tried to get up off the ground, police said, Beck struck him four more times in the mouth. The suspect fled before officers there.

The victim later went on his own to Butler Memorial Hospital. He was subsequently taken to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh, documents said, where he underwent surgery on his mouth.
