6-hit night for Law

Big game for Knoch grad lifts BlueSox

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — Knoch High graduate Chris Law went 6-for-6 at the plate Thursday to lead Butler’s 18-hit attack as the BlueSox overwhelmed host Champion City, 13-7, in Prospect League baseball play.

Law scored two runs and drove in two. Fellow Knoch product Dom Bucko was 3-for-6 with a run scored and three RBI.

The Sox (19-27) made the start for Champion City’s Henry von Hollen a miserable one. Butler tagged him with nine runs (six earned) on 11 hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Nick Mancuso scored three times and drove in two for Butler.

Brady Walker earned the pitching win after allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out seven and walked a pair.

Champion City falls to 19-23 with the loss.

Butler begins a two-game series at Chillicothe on Friday.
