Duck,

In the hours, minutes, and seconds that have ticked off the clock of our lives, a year has come. We still cannot believe this horror that has struck our family.

II Corinthians states that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. This is our only consolation. From that day to this day, when you were torn from our lives forever. There was no justice to be found that day, nor has there been any to this day.

Lost to us forever is the loving Son, Brother, Cousin, Nephew, Uncle, Father and Grandfather. The smiling eyes that twinkled with life, the voice that always seemed to hold a hint of a smile, the warmth and love that you gave everyone you knew are gone.

So until we are all together again, we will have to hold on tight to the memories that we have of you.
