Butler County commissioners on Wednesday approved an additional $5 to the vehicle registration fees that most county residents pay.
In addition to generating about $900,000 annually for county road and bridge projects, the fee will make the county's $25 million federal B.U.I.L.D. grant application more attractive to the U.S. Department of Transportation as it demonstrates Butler County is willing to go all out for transportation improvements.
No county residents showed up to Wednesday's meeting to complain about the fee.
