Vote for change
Your recent article about Daryl Metcalfe’s chances in the upcoming election (“Metcalfe enjoys political perfect storm” page 1, July 7) fails to mention that there are voters in his district that will vote against their party in November.
I simply don’t know how anyone can think that his misogynistic, islamophobic, and cowardly (town hall meetings, anyone?) actions properly reflect the will of the people in the district.
He boasts about refusing to bring legislation introduced by Democrats to the floor for debate — the very antithesis of bipartisan governance. And his hijacking of gerrymandering legislation that had over 100 co-sponsors seems criminal.
Elections used to be about not only the issues but also the character of the candidates. In these chaotic political times, let’s use our vote to elect someone who will care about the wishes of his constituents rather than protect the fiefdom that’s been built over the last 20 years.
Anyone but Metcalfe!
