July 6 — A man and woman were charged with misdemeanor drug crimes stemming from a May traffic stop on South Chestnut Street near Race Street. Police said they stopped the car about 11:20 p.m. May 29 after Tonya M. Kildoo, 40, of Chicora failed to stop for a red light on West Diamond Street.

Officers subsequently learned that the rear-seat passenger, Brent D. Kennard, 29, of Clay Township, was wanted on a warrant. He was searched and found with five stamp bags and one empty bag of suspected heroin.

Police later found Kildoo with a suspected heroin shooting kit, which included several empty stamp bags, a spoon and syringe as well as a crack pipe and Chore Boy copper scrubber.

Kennard is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Kildoo is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

July 5 — Police charged Zachary R. Zediker, 24, of Butler Township, and Madison M. Lovric, 24, of West Sunbury in connection with last month’s theft of two butane lighters at RB Cigar Bar & Speakeasy on South Main Street.

According to court documents, the suspected crime June 2 was caught on surveillance video.

Zediker and Lovric are both charged with a third-degree misdemeanor count of theft.

Thursday — Annette G. Budner, 56, of Butler was arraigned on felony and other charges stemming from a July 3 shoplifting incident at the Butler Commons’ Walmart.

Budner is accused of failing to scan 10 items of merchandise, valued at a combined $90.48, while using a self-checkout register, according to court documents.

Police said Budner has two prior shoplifting convictions. She also was barred from the store on June 2 for a prior shoplifting incident.

Budner was arraigned on a felony count of retail theft and a summary count of defiant trespass. She was released on her own recognizance following arraignment.

Wednesday — Elizabeth Ann Walker, 22, of Butler was charged with taking $60 from the cash register while she worked May 24 at Little Caesars at the Butler Crossing shopping plaza.

She is charged with misdemeanor theft.

4:24 p.m. Wednesday — Jacob Durso, 18, of Slippery Rock was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Route 422 at Moraine Pointe Plaza.

Police said an unidentified vehicle struck the vehicle that Durso was driving. He suffered a minor injury that did not require medical treatment, according to a police report. The other driver did not stop.

8:58 p.m. July 6 — One person was hurt in a two-vehicle crash at Route 356 and Hindman Road. The wreck happened, a police report said, when Nancy Schnur, 77, of Butler ran a red light. Her minivan struck a car driven by Christopher Rensel, 21, of Butler.

Rensel suffered a minor injury. Police cited Schnur for a red light violation.

2:18 a.m. July 6 — Timothy J. Hann, 29, of Chicora was arrested for drunken driving after he crashed his pickup truck at Chicora-Fenelton and McGarvey roads. He left the scene before troopers got there but police a short time later spoke to him at his home.

Police said Hann admitted that he had “11 beers” before driving and crashing his pickup, according to court documents.

He was taken for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.140 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

Hann is charged with driving under the influence, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, disregarding traffic lanes, failing to keep right, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving and reckless driving.

July 6 — Two Sarver teenagers were charged with shoplifting merchandise last month at a Clearview Mall store in Center Township.

Police said Victoria K. Huston, 18, and Hannah E. Mason, 18, left Boscov’s on June 25 with clothing items valued at a total of $405.98, for which they had not paid.

A loss prevention officer stopped the defendant in the mall. Both teens, according to court documents, admitted they had the merchandise in their purses.

Huston and Mason are both charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.

July 6 — A Clarion County woman was charged with being more than twice the state’s legal limit for alcohol in connection with a one-vehicle crash last month in Parker Township.

The defendant, Skye L. Galey, 28, of St. Petersburg, lost control of her car about 3:50 a.m. June 17 and struck a guardrail on Route 268, according to court documents.

She subsequently failed field sobriety tests and was taken for a breath test, which showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.185 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.

Galey is charged with driving under the influence, disregarding traffic lanes, failing to keep right and careless driving.
