CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The Old Fashion Summer BBQ of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 North Duffy Road, will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Moraine State Park North Lakeview Pavilion 005. Contact Candice or Chris White at 814-673-4064.

The red church offering Sunday will benefit the Back to School Bash from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 22 at Rotary Park in downtown Butler.

The First English Lutheran Church community dinner work team will meet at 4 p.m. Monday.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Wake Youth club, part of Community Life Church, 1104 Pittsburgh Pike Road, will travel to Victory Pointe Arcade from 12:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

The ride to and from will be provided and a permission slip is required for youths, which can be found on clcbutler.org/events.

Community Life Church will also host a meeting for baptism interest at noon Sunday following the worship service. Preregister at clcbutler.org/events.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

The annual ecclesiastical meeting of the congregation of Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will be July 22, immediately following the 10 a.m. worship service in the Assembly Room during fellowship time Reports from all boards and committees will be received, and elders and nominating committee representatives will be elected.

The Summer Mission project is to purchase a cow for a poor family in Kenya. The goal is $450.

FAITH UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main Ext., will host a potluck lunch after service Sunday. Patrons are asked to bring a covered dish to the garden surplus table in the vestibule.

FIRST BAPTIST

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will join fellow congregations at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Worth Township, for Senior High (ninth to 12th grade), Junior (fourth to sixth grade) and co-ed soccer camps, from Monday through Saturday. The Shop @ 216 will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The church will have 9:45 a.m. Sunday school classes, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. worship services and noon luncheon Sunday.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

Bible Study with Pastor Kimberly van Driel resumes at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.,

The 10 a.m. Sunday worship service will include Holy Communion at the altar rail.

There will be a staff meeting at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

GLADE RUN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Eleven mission team members from Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, will be commissioned Sunday. The multigeneration mission team leaves for Romania July 19 and returns Aug. 6. They will be serving and staying at the Farm of Hope in Romania.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

The church office at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., is closed Thursday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Friday’s fellowship and service meeting is canceled.

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank, is open to the public from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday No proof of income is required. Each family may fill one large bag. Clothing can be donated while the clothing bank is open or during office hours, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

There is a teen meeting from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Information for the August newsletter is due Sunday at the church office.

Members of Grace @ Calvary will lead worship at LIFE Butler County, 231 W. Diamond St. with the adult day program participants at 11 a.m. Monday and Tuesday. Be at the church by 10:40 a.m. to participate and help.

The church council will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Elder Karl Kennedy will deliver the message at Sunday worship at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. Fellowship hour will follow.

Wild Wednesday for youths in grades 1-6 will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Miller Shelter in Memorial Park, and will include lunch, games and crafts.

Ticket registration for the Aug. 3 Butler Blue Sox game hosted by the deacons is ongoing.

The food request for July is ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise.

INTERSECTION CHURCH

Intersection Church, 120 Walker Ave., will sponsor a Backpack Children’s Ministry for local children during July to help supply children with backpacks and school supplies for the upcoming school year.

RIDER LUTHERAN

Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury, will have a potato salad-making session beginning at 9 a.m. Friday.

The church strawberry festival will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday.

There will be a 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

This summer the youth of Saint Andrews and Hill United Presbyterian churches are joining together to offer a monthly program for elementary-age children in Butler. “Wild Wednesday” will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Miller Shelter at Memorial Park. There will be lunch, games, stories, crafts and more. The Butler Fire Department will visit with a program on fire safety. Everyone in first through sixth grades is welcome. ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, will celebrate Holy Communion during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service.

The July Cause of the Month is the Healing Heroes Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs.

ST. JOHN'S REFORMED CHURCH

ST. JOHN’S UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City, will have a church safety meeting after the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

The Garden Club will hold its semi-monthly garden cleanup at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

Christian Education meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will share Holy Communion at the 8:15 and 10 a.m. Sunday worship services.

Cabot Food Bank volunteers meet at 6 p.m. Monday

The Church Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Centennial Hall.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

The church office at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will be closed on Friday.

There will be worship with healing at the 5:30 p.m. Saturday service and 10 a.m. Sunday service. There will also be blood-pressure screenings after all services.

The Church Council meets at 7 p.m. Monday.

The worship and music committee meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Holden Evening prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday. All are welcome.

The women’s quilting group meets at 1 p.m. July 19.

Vacation Bible school starts Monday and runs through July 20. If you would like to have your child attend, you can register at 9 a.m. Monday. VBS is free.
