Bucko clutch again

Knoch grad scores 3 runs in Sox victory

Dominick Bucko continued his torrid start with a double and three runs scored as the Butler BlueSox earned a 6-2 win over Chillicothe in a rain-shortened game Wednesday at Kelly Automotive Park.

Bucko, a Knoch graduate, is batting .500 (12-for-24) for the BlueSox this season.

Bucko also stole his fourth base of the season against the Paints.

Butler (10-21) jumped out early with single runs in the first and second innings.

After Chillicothe (18-13) tied the game with two runs in the top of the third, the BlueSox responded with a run in the bottom half of the inning and three more in the bottom of the fifth to build a comfortable lead.

The game was called after seven innings because of heavy rain and lightning.

Jake Stout picked up the win for the BlueSox, going 5 1/3 innings. He gave up two earned runs on seven hits and fanned three.

Jeffrey Wehler, Kellen Sarver and Knoch graduate Chris Law each had two hits for the BlueSox.

Wehler raised his average to .346.

Butler was coming off a 6-5 loss to the Paints Tuesday night.

In that game, Bucko went 2-for-4 with a double and Wehler also had a pair of hits.

Sean Kealy was saddled with the loss in relief.

Butler will play the Paints again Thursday, this one at Chillocthe.
