Route 19 accident slows traffic

A mid-size Subaru SUV appeared to have rear-ended a Ford Focus, causing heavy front-end damage to the SUV and severe rear-end damage to the car.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP — One person was evaluated for injuries following a two-vehicle accident Thursday on Route 19 in Cranberry Township.

The accident was reported at about 3:45 p.m. Thursday on Route 19 north, near Piazza Plaza. A mid-size Subaru SUV appeared to have rear-ended a Ford Focus, causing heavy front-end damage to the SUV and severe rear-end damage to the car.

Traffic was slowed and reduced to one lane as Cranberry police and EMS worked at the scene. A passenger of the Focus was being seen being tended to by EMS personnel.

Additional information, as well as the conditions of those involved, was not immediately available.
