[naviga:h3]2 car cruises coming[/naviga:h3]

The Rodfather’s annual Cruise-A-Palooza is scheduled for Saturday at the Butler Farm Show grounds, Connoquenessing Township. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The car cruise will include dash plaques, music, food, crafts and raffles.

Also planned are Pittsburgh Bomb Squad demonstrations, canine demonstrations, and plane and helicopter rides.

The rain date for the cruise is Sunday, from noon to 5 p.m.

In Penn Township, the 18th annual Mega Cruise will take place July 1. Gates open at 1 p.m. and the event runs until 10 p.m. at the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport. All types of cars, trucks, motorcycles and airplanes may attend.

Show vehicles get in free, but anyone just visiting will be asked for a $2 entry donation to benefit the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department and cover the event’s costs.

Food, music, karaoke, Chinese auction and 50-50 will be available with fireworks to close out the night.

[naviga:h3]Monster Bash this weekend[/naviga:h3]

MARSHALL TWP, Allegheny County — Monster Bash, the international classic monster movie conference and film festival, returns to the Cranberry Township area from Friday through Sunday at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh-Cranberry, 910 Sheraton Drive.

Monster Bash features screenings of classic films and television shows, question-and-answer sessions with celebrities, music, and monster movie memorabilia.

Guests will include Victoria Price, daughter of Vincent Price; Joyce Meadows, who starred in scores of TV shows and films including “The Brain from Planet Arous;” and former child actress Sharyn Moffett who worked on films with Boris Karloff and Cary Grant.

An outdoor screening of “The Brain from Planet Arous” will be held Saturday night, weather permitting.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

BUTLER TWP — Sing Hosanna! concludes “Willy Wonka Jr.” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.

[naviga:h3]Broadway star hosts SV event[/naviga:h3]

JACKSON TWP — Conner John Gillooly, Seneca Valley High School Class of 2012 and Broadway performer, will host Seneca Valley Musical’s first concert and talent show fundraiser.

Gillooly has appeared in “School of Rock — The Musical” in New York.

The fundraiser evening will include performances by current students and/or musical alumni of Seneca Valley.

The event will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Strand Theater in Zelienople.

[naviga:h3]Pullman Park books offered[/naviga:h3]

“Butler’s Diamond in the Rough: Historic Pullman Park 1934-2017” by Dess E. Schnur is available from the Butler County Historical Society.

The book brings together the 83-year history of the park and first-hand accounts of the events that have formed its history.

The chapters are written by Schnur as well as Butler Eagle Sports Editor John Enrietto, Patrick Reddick, and Gary Shingleton.

More than 30 memories from players, coaches, fans, umpires, leaders and local residents are included.

Numerous photographs and a timeline are also featured.
