Defense gets 90 days to file motions in Lambing case

Lambing's defense team gets 90 days to file pretrial motions following hearing Wednesday.

All evidence has been turned over to the defense in the homicide case against a Butler man charged in the death of a 4-year-old boy, and the defense team was given 90 days to file pretrial motions after a hearing on Wednesday.

Chief Public Defender Kevin Flaherty requested those 90 days to review the evidence that has been turned over by the Butler County District Attorney's Office in the homicide case against Keith Jordan Lambing, 20, and file any motions that may result from that review.

President Judge Thomas Doerr ordered that the defense has until Sept. 28 to file those motions, and a hearing would then be scheduled to follow.

Lambing was charged with first-degree homicide, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with serious bodily injury, rape of a child and other charges in connection with the death of Bentley Thomas Miller on March 21, 2017.

Butler Township police say Lambing sexually assaulted the boy while baby-sitting at the Super 8 motel on Route 8 in Butler Township, leaving him with injuries that resulted in his death.
