Zelie man charged in federal drug probe

U.S. Attorney Scott Brady

A Zelienople man is among 28 people named in two related indictments unsealed Wednesday charging them with federal narcotics and firearms law violations.

Raymond Chrzanowski, 50, of Zelienople was named in the second of the two indictments unsealed by Scott Brady, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh.

From November 2017 through June this year, Chrzanowski and five other defendants allegedly conspired to possess with intent to deliver and distribute 28 grams of crack cocaine, Brady said in a news release.

Chrzanowski and 10 other defendants allegedly conspired to possess with intent to deliver and distribute heroin. The amount of heroin involved wasn't specified, Brady said.

Four defendants including Chrzanowski also allegedly conspired to possess with intent to deliver an unspecified amount of powder cocaine, Brady said.

The defendants are members or associates of the “GBK” street gang that operated in Pittsburgh's West End neighborhoods and other communities in the Greater Pittsburgh area, according to the news release.
