ADAMS TWP. - Union Church Road in Adams Township is closed to traffic while emergency crews clean up the site of an overturned vehicle.

The incident occurred a short distance from 117 Union Church Road at 4:04 p.m.

Adams Township police said the driver of the vehicle reported that he looked away from the road briefly, which caused the vehicle to leave the road, hit a utility pole and overturn.

The initial call was made for an entrapped individual, but police said a bystander helped the driver from the vehicle.

No information regarding the driver's condition was immediately available.

The utility pole was sheared from its base.

Callery and Adams township fire departments, and Quality Ambulance assisted on the scene.
