JACKSON TWP — Seneca Valley boys basketball coach Victor Giannotta has announced his resignation.

Giannotta, 53, is 163-167 in 14 years as coach of the Raiders, taking his teams to the WPIAL playoffs seven times and the WPIAL semifinals twice. He is 341-316 overall as a head coach, winning a state championship with Sewickley Academy in 1997.

Giannotta will continue to be a physical education teacher in the Seneca Valley district. He is vacationing in North Carolina and was unavailable for comment.
