CHAUTAUQUA, N.Y. — Butler County Community College sophomore Michael Rozzi carded a 318 to tie for 21st overall at the NJCAA Div. III golf championships recently at Lake Chautauqua.

Rozzi fell two strokes shy of attaining All-American status, He parred 44 of the 72 holes.

BC3 freshman and A-C Valley graduate Noah Morgan carded a 346 and finished 59th overall.

[naviga:h3]Youth softball team pulls off triple play[/naviga:h3]

BUTLER TWP — The Butler Girls #1 12-under travel team executed a triple play against Saxonburg recently.

Pitcher Dezi Stellfox caught a line drive with the bases loaded, threw to Sarah Lucas to double a runner off third base, Lucas then throwing to Tori Gilliland to double a runner off first base.

Butler won the game, 11-4.

[naviga:h3]SRU outfielder Nagle joining pro softball[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University senior outfielder Emily Nagle has been selected by the E1 Pro Ballers in the inaugural American Softball Association player draft.

The ASBA was formed this year and is a four-team league that begins play this summer. Nagle hit .340 for SRU and was 8-for-8 in stolen bases. She reached base safely in 29 straight games.
