BUTLER — J&J Fire Protection Co. has announce Dennis Randolph Jr., vice president of engineering, was awarded Level III certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology — Water-Based Systems Layout by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies.

Randolph has 17 years of experience in the fire protection industry, including all phases of design, fabrication and installation.

Two doctors from Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh have been selected to the 16-person board of directors for a worldwide organization focused on improving the care of patients suffering from advanced heart or lung disease.The International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation recently elected AGH cardiologists Raymond Benza, and Manreet Kanwar to its board at the annual meeting and scientific sessions in Nice, France. They are the only board members from the same hospital.In addition to his position on the board of directors, Benza was appointed the organization's treasurer.An internationally known clinician and researcher, Benza is medical director of advanced heart failure, transplantation, mechanical circulatory support and pulmonary hypertension for the AHN Cardiovascular Institute.Kanwar is medical director of the Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension Program at AGH, with an expertise in advanced heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.Formed in 1981 at a gathering of about 15 cardiologists and cardiac surgeons, the ISHLT has grown into a worldwide organization with 3,000-plus members in more than 45 countries.

BUTLER — Complete Custom Itinerary Service has awarded its annual National College Scholarship to a senior from James Wood High School in Winchester, Va.Rebekah Eisenfeld, a senior in the school's band program, will be attending George Mason University and pursuing a degree in forensic science.The company's selection process was based on letters of recommendation, academic honors, awards, community service, volunteerism and other criteria.
