Child porn defendant admits violation, resentenced to probation

Josiah D. Krammes, 27, of Pottsville, saw his previous probation revoked by Butler County Judge William Shaffer, and he was resentenced to 5 years of state probation, after admitting he violated his probation by being present in an adult bookstore and possessing adult material.

A Schuylkill County man, previously sentenced to state prison after being charged with child pornography counts while enrolled as a student at Slippery Rock University in 2013, admitted to violating his probation and was resentenced Friday.

Josiah D. Krammes, 27, of Pottsville, saw his previous probation revoked by Butler County Judge William Shaffer. He was resentenced to 5 years of state probation after admitting to violating his probation by being present in an adult bookstore and possessing adult material.

Krammes was originally sentenced to 17 to 34 months in state prison followed by 5 years of probation in September 2014, after pleading guilty in March 2014 to charges of three felony counts of disseminating child pornography, five counts of possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communications facility.

Officials said Krammes had 3 years left on his probation sentence before the violation.

Krammes was arrested by the state attorney general's Child Predator Section following an investigation of his file sharing habits. Police said he was found with several pornographic videos containing children on his laptop. Investigators said Krammes used his laptop to download and distribute the images through a peer-to-peer file sharing network in May and July 2013.
