PNC closing South Main Street branch

PITTSBURGH — The PNC Bank at 106 S. Main St. is the only branch closing in Southwestern Pennsylvania as the corporation evaluates its network of branches.

Marcey Zwiebel, PNC spokeswoman, said the branch will close at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17.

All accounts will be transferred to the Clearview Mall PNC branch, Zwiebel said. Customers can continue to use any of PNC’s 2,400 branch offices.

The decision to close the branch was the result of a PNC project to evaluate its branches to look at use.

“The way customers are using branches has really been changing in recent years,” Zwiebel said.
