[naviga:h3]5th Annual Lake Arthur Striper Fishing Tournament[/naviga:h3]

June 1 to 18

Lake Arthur Moraine State Park, 225 Pleasant Valley Road, Portersville.

The fishing tournament is an 18-day catch and release paper/photo fishing tournament for the hybrid Striped bass. The tournament's top prize is $300 and all participants receive a tournament T-shirt.

This year, proceeds benefit the Slippery Rock Community Library. So grab your rod and cast a line at Lake Arthur Moraine State Park in support of the library. For a registration form and a complete list of the rules see attached or go to www.slipperyrocklibrary.org.

[naviga:h3]Western Pennsylvania Solo Canoe Rendezvous[/naviga:h3]

Cooper's Lake Campground, 205 Currie Road, Slippery Rock

Regular camping fees; $5 per non-camper, per day. The rendezvous is a gathering of canoe enthusiasts and features demonstrations of FreeStyle paddling; assorted programs on canoe design, construction and use; and entertainment. The ninth annual Seven Fields Community Days Carnival features live music by Velveeta on June 7 and Dancing Queen on June 8. Fireworks provided by Pyrotecnico will be displayed June 9.

Admission: Adults, $10 per day, children age 3 to 12, $3 per day; participation costs extra. This event features all things Jeep and tailors its events and activities around that theme. Old Stone House Museum, 2856 William Flinn Highway, Slippery Rock

Free admission as you step back in time and experience activities of early America: Dip a candle, play a colonial game, make ice cream, churn butter and punch tin. Enjoy the food and fellowship of the early American stagecoach stop and tavern. This free event is sponsored by Friends of the Old Stone House.

[naviga:h3]Whispering Pines Festival in the woods[/naviga:h3]

June 15 to 16

Whispering Pines Farm, 201 Winsome Lane, Cabot

Held twice a year — the third weekend in June and September — the festival features artisans, vintage repurposed, industrial, antiques, jewelry, decor, botanical, garden art, blacksmith and artisan demonstrations. Antique tractors will be on display all weekend with antique cars and trucks show on Father's Day. Admission $5, children, 12 and younger, are admitted free. June 19 to July 7

Big Butler Fairgrounds, 1127 New Castle Road, Prospect

The Big Butler Fair features fireworks, a midway, games, demolition derbies, concerts, truck pulls, livestock judging and various arts competitions. The Butler YMCA continues the Butler Road Race, around for the last 42 years. In keeping with tradition, proceeds from the 5 mile run and 2K run will benefit the YMCA's annual Support Campaign which helps to fund community programming. Prices and awards vary by race. June 30, 3 to 7 p.m.

Centre City Parking Garage, S. McKean St., Butler

A festival with beer, food and music, numerous regional breweries will serve samples which are included in the admission cost. There also will be food vendors, live music and entertainment. The beer fest will begin with a VIP session at 3 p.m. with the general session following from 4 to 7 p.m. No one under 21 will be admitted.

Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport, 475 Airport Road, Butler

There's parking for over 1,000 show cars, motorcycles, trucks, tractors and airplanes. Car fans can also enjoy food, beverages, music, 50/50 raffles and a Chinese auction.

[naviga:h3]Cranberry Community Days[/naviga:h3]

July 12 to 14, Cranberry Township

The free event is hosted by the Cranberry Township Community Chest. The event features carnival rides for children, food vendors, booths, concerts and a car cruise. The weekend is capped off by a fireworks display in the township community park. There also will be a 5K footrace to benefit community chest on July 14. A weekend music festival showcasing local artists, belly dancing lessons, balloon art and activities like fishing and biking. Adults, $20 for the weekend; youths, 17 and younger, are admitted free. Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Co. Fireman's Carnival

July 17 to 21, 6 to 11 p.m.

This carnival benefits the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Co. The six-day event contains at least one main attraction each day, including parades, a water battle and beauty pageants. The pet parade is July 17 with the firefighter's parade July 19. Rides will be supplied by C & L Shows. Books of tickets cost $20 with five tickets per book. The 55th Horse Trading Days' includes three days of old-fashioned food, music and contests in Zelienople and Harmony. The music festival features a range of music from guitars, to fiddles to vocals. This will be old-time heritage music that add to the town's atmosphere along with its historic buildings and shops. Scheduled under the tents behind the Lund Care Center, the traditional festival features a worship service; a choir of congregation members, Haven residents and Pittsburgh Lutheran Chorus members; food; and entertainment. Aug. 4 to 5, Moraine State Park

Sailing into its 20th year at Moraine State Park, the Regatta promotes having fun with nature and provides free weekend activities for friends and families to enjoy. Exploring of the 3,225 acre Lake Arthur and its more than 40 miles of scenic shoreline is encouraged. The Regatta offers land and lake events, along with exciting opportunities to engage with the natural resources of the park.

Farm Show Grounds, 625 Evans City Road, Butler

The 70th annual farm show showcases the county's farming community at the show grounds on Route 68 with farming exhibits, tractors pulls, crafts, rides, food and demonstrations. Aug. 14 to 18

2225 Oneida Valley Road, Petrolia

The North Washington Rodeo brings professional rodeo to Butler County. Parade, nightly dinners, bareback bronc riding, calf roping, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, bull riding and team roping are features. Gates open nightly at 6 p.m. Rodeo competition starts at 8 p.m. Gate prices are $14 for adults and $6 for children. For more information, visit www.nwvfd.com.

Aug. 25, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cooper's Lake Campground, 205 Currie Road, Slippery Rock

BrewersFest is a one-of-a-kind homebrewing and beer tasting event where beer lovers unite to brew, taste and learn about home-brew. Try over 100 beers, cast a vote for your favorite, participate in the baggo and keg throwing competitions and relax by the big bonfire before camping for the night. Brewers and one apprentice attend at no charge. Tasting tickets can be purchased online for $35 or at the gate for $40 for adults.

[naviga:h3]Saxonburg Festival of the Arts[/naviga:h3]

10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sept. 8 and noon to 5 p.m., Sept. 9

The 33rd annual Saxonburg Festival of the Arts at Roebling Park will feature crafts, food, music and art demonstrations. Free parking and shuttle.
