CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The book club of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, meets at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Sunday is the last day of Sunday school until fall.

The youth group will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The community dinner work team will meet 4 p.m. Monday, and the Care Team will meet 7 p.m. Monday.

The Church Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Newsletter articles are due Wednesday.

Preschool graduation for Tuesday and Thursday classes is 9 a.m. May 24 and graduation for Monday, Wednesday and Friday classes is 9 a.m. May 25.

COMMUNITY ALLIANCE

Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, holds a Starting Point event at noon Sunday, in the church’s KidStuf Theater. Starting Point is a luncheon designed to help people get connected. Register online at ButlerCAC.org.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

The Seekers class of Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., meets at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the Assembly Room. This will be the final class until the class resumes in the fall.

FAITH UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main Ext., will have no adult Sunday school this week.

After the Sunday worship service, there will be a salad smorgasbord sponsored by the deacons.

FIRST BAPTIST

First Baptist Christian School, a ministry of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., has kindergarten graduation at 7 p.m. Friday in the church auditorium for parents, family and friends of Kindergarten students.

The church is participating in a women’s spring retreat at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call the church at 724-287-7241.

The church will have 9:45 a.m. Sunday school. Missionaries Kurt and Bethany Gomez speak at the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service followed by a luncheon and 1 p.m. worship service.

The Deaf Café will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the youth center. Take your own lunch. There will be fellowship, a devotional and a guest speaker.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

The First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., retreat at Camp Lutherlyn begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday. There will be a campfire with songs and prayers at 8:30 p.m. The retreat ends at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

The 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday worship services celebrate Pentecost.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

The property committee of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will have a work day from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Dinner will be provided to anyone who comes to help with both inside and outside chores.

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank is open to the public from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. No proof of income is required. Each family may fill one large bag. Clothing can be donated while the clothing bank is open or from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

The Women’s Spring Banquet will be at 5 p.m. Sunday. Take a tureen dish. Tableware, drinks and rolls will be provided. Men are invited to help in the kitchen and will be provided dinner. The entertainment after dinner will be the Butler “Butterfly Lady”.

Members of Grace @ Calvary will lead worship at LIFE Butler County, 231 W. Diamond St., with the adult day program participants at 11 a.m. Monday and Tuesday. Be at the church by 10:40 a.m. to participate and help.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will receive the Pentecost Offering during worship. Members are encouraged to wear red for Pentecost.

The yarn group will meet in the Hall Lounge following worship Sunday.

Volunteers interested in providing special music during the summer are asked to sign up on the bulletin board across from the library. Questions should be directed to choir director Jenny Martin.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, recognizes the confirmation class at the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service.

Sunday is also the last choir and Sunday school before the summer break.

NORTH MAIN STREET CHURCH OF GOD

North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext., will have a Park Manor worship and Communion service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday with Pastor Matt Reitz.

Graduation Sunday is June 3. Graduates will be recognized and will be guests at a special connection luncheon in their honor. Graduates should provide information regarding their graduation by completing the form provided in the Sunday bulletin.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will have a “name your price” garage sale Friday and Saturday.

The church’s inaugural car show will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday with a Blessing of the Vehicles at noon.

ORCHARD HILL BUTLER COUNTY

Orchard Hill Butler County worships at Penn Christian Academy, 199 W. Airport Road, Penn Township.

Join children of all ages from Orchard Hill Church Butler County at the Purple Park in Alameda Park from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, for cupcake decorating and play, weather permitting.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 East Jefferson St., celebrates the Lord’s Supper during worship Sunday. Remember to wear red in celebration of the gift of the Holy Spirit.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, will celebrate Holy Communion during the Sunday Worship Service.

The cause of the month for May is Camp Lutherlyn.

The Church Council meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The BALM men’s monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday needs donations of casseroles and baked goods.

Remember to sign up the June 3 monthly breakfast before the worship service.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, has its annual gardener’s paradise and plant sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. All proceeds will benefit the youth mission trip.

Pentecost and Church Music Sunday will be celebrated at all services Sunday with special music and Holy Communion.

The Fellowship for Christian Stewardship’s Business Leadership & Work Ethic Module will be 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the Youth Room.

The Church Council meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Centennial Hall.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., serves Holy Communion at all weekend worship services: 6 p.m. Saturday and 8 and 10:15 a.m. Sunday.

Confirmation students will be confirmed at the 10:15 a.m. Sunday worship service A reception will follow the service.

The Christian Senior Luncheon is noon Tuesday in the fellowship hall.

The bell choir will not meet this summer.

The sanctuary choir’s last rehearsal before summer break is 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, has worship with healing at all services this weekend.

The Church council meets at 7 p.m. Monday.

Out to Lunch will be at Villa Grande, 183 New Castle Road, after the 11 a.m. Sunday service.

The last day of Sunday school is Sunday.

VALENCIA PRESBYTERIAN

Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia, has a congregational Visioning Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Sunday following the worship service. The purpose of the luncheon is to discuss the Vision of VPC to grow the Body of Christ. Sign up in the lounge.

ZION LUTHERAN

Zion Lutheran Church, 266 Zion Church Road, Chicora, will have a council meeting at 8:30 a.m. Sunday before the 10 a.m. worship service.

Sunday is Youth Appreciation Day. The youths of the church will participate in the reading of the lessons during the worship service. Refreshments will be served in the social hall after the service.
