[naviga:h3]Mars Bank names three staff members to leadership posts[/naviga:h3]

Mars Bank recently promoted the following staff to new officer positions:

Brad Clevenger is now vice president of information technology and he is operations manager.

In mortgage and consumer loans operations, Mary Ann Braden is now vice president.

Heather Marsh was named assistant vice president and a department operations specialist.

“We are pleased to announce these promotions,” said James Dionise, Mars Bank president and chief executive officer. “As a community bank, we believe strongly in helping our staff develop as leaders in the company and industry, for the benefit of our customers and community.”

Mars Bank is headquartered at 145 Grandview Avenue, Mars.

[naviga:h3]US retail sales up in in April, signaling consumer rebound[/naviga:h3]

WASHINGTON — U.S. retail sales rose at a solid pace in April, a sign that consumers may be rebounding from weak spending earlier this year and driving stronger economic growth.

Retail sales increased at a 0.3 percent rate in April, the Commerce Department said Tuesday, down from a 0.8 percent gain in March, which was revised higher from 0.6 percent. The spending gains were spread across most retail categories, with especially big gains at furniture and clothing stores.
