Moniteau's Patton sets marks

NEW BETHLEHEM — Moniteau hurdler Jake Patton snapped a pair of 16-year-old records late last week at the Redbank Valley Invitational.

Patton won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.73 seconds, breaking the previous meet record set by Karns City's Brian Reed in 2002.

He then ran the 300-meter hurdles in 39.58 seconds, snapping the previous meet record set by Karns City's Ian Ferguson in 2002.

Warrior pole vaulter Kendall Grossman broke a meet record she tied last year. Grossman vaulted 11 feet, surpassing the previous meet mark of 10 feet, 3 inches.

Moniteau picked up two more victories at the Redbank Invite. James Parenti won the discus with a toss of 141 feet. Ryan Heller claimed the shot put with a heave of 49 feet, 8 inches.

Heller also finished second to Parenti in the discus with a throw of 134 feet, 2 inches.
