BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will have Gordon Thompson singing Sunday.

The red church offering at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 North Duffy Road, Sunday will benefit cystic fibrosis.

The Men’s breakfast will be at 8 a.m. Monday.

The First English Lutheran Church community dinner work team meets at 4 p.m. Monday.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Community Life Church, 1104 Pittsburgh Pike Road, has a special Mother’s Day service Sunday, including small child and baby dedications.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

The Seekers class of Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., meets at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the Assembly Room.

FAITH UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The deacons of Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main Ext., in celebration of Mother’s Day, will present ladies with a pen.

FIRST BAPTIST

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will have 9:45 a.m. Sunday school, an 11 a.m. worship service and a noon lunch Sunday.

First Baptist Christian School’s elementary program is 7 p.m. Thursday.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

The Sunday school youngsters of First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will sing “Jesus is the Rock” at the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service as a tribute to mothers. They will also be giving a memento to mothers.

There will be a staff meeting at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The finance committee meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

MaryAnn Mahan and Linda Grigor provide the music at the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

GraceWay will honor all mothers present in the Sunday worship service.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The memorial handbell choir of Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will ring on Mother’s Day.

Sunday and May 20 are Layette Sundays. New or gently worn baby items such as blankets, onesies, and infant clothing should be placed in the crib located in the overflow area. Monetary donations are also needed.

Wednesday is the deadline for reservations for the May 21 Senior Night Out dinner.

INTERSECTION CHURCH

Intersection Church, 120 Walker Ave., will have a community meal at 5 p.m. Sunday.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The stewardship committee of Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, meets at 6 p.m. today in the office, and the deacons meet at 7 p.m. in the board room. The youth group will not meet tonight.

The final GriefShare of the spring session meets at 6:30 p.m. today in the library room.

On Mother’s Day during the 11 a.m. Sunday worship hour Almas Angels will perform.

All mothers will receive at flower at both services in honor of Mother’s Day.

The worship committee meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

NORTH MAIN STREET CHURCH OF GOD

North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext., has open registration for its 5th annual basketball camp June 11 to 14. This is an elementary (grades 1 through 6h) co-ed basketball camp. The 3:12 outreach center located at 312 North Main St. is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Monday and Thursday.

The youth support group for 10- to 15-year-olds, Where Is Our Place?, will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at 3:12

Alpha Recovery will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at 3:12. This is a 12-step Christ-centered recovery group.

ORCHARD HILL BUTLER COUNTY

Orchard Hill Butler County worships at Penn Christian Academy, 199 W. Airport Road, Penn Township. It has a women’s fun night beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Butler office, 330 Whitestown Road. SPRINGDALE LUTHERAN

Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury, marks the Sunday Mother’s Day service with Holy Communion. The guest pastor will be Pastor Karl Schoch.

The Church Council meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday. All members are welcome.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, celebrates Mother’s Day Sunday.

Youths will sell hanging baskets after each service Sunday to raise funds for the June youth mission trip.

The Outreach Ministry Team will lead the 2 p.m. Sunday service at Saxony Health Center, 223 Pittsburgh St, Saxonburg,

The Sewing Ministry meets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday in the Fellowship Hall, and Food Bank volunteers meet at 5 p.m. Monday to pack groceries.

Monday’s council meeting is rescheduled to May 21.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., celebrates Holy Communion at the 6 p.m. Saturday worship service.

Sunday the youths meet for lunch and then will visit the zoo.

The bell choir meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The worship and music committee meets at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, and the sanctuary choir rehearses at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, has contemporary worship at all services this weekend. Confirmation will be at the 11 a.m. Sunday service with a reception for the confirmands after the service.

Holden evening prayer will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday. All are welcome.

ZION LUTHERAN

Zion Lutheran Church, 266 Zion Church Road, Chicora, celebrates the Sacrament of Holy Communion at the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service This will also be the last day of youth Sunday school until September.
