1:03 a.m. Thursday — Jeffrey Fink, 63, of Butler was caught with suspected marijuana and under the influence after he was found stumbling on Whitestown Road at Stoneridge Boulevard. He is charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.

[naviga:h3]Slippery Rock Police[/naviga:h3]

3:38 p.m. April 23 — Michael T. Haraburda, 65, of Slippery Rock was nearly 2½ times the state’s legal limit for alcohol following a two-vehicle wreck on South Main Street near Morrow Way.

Police said Haraburda’s car struck the back of a pickup truck driven by Homer A. Sculock. No one was injured.

Haraburda appeared to have been drinking, according to court documents, and a portable breath test device indicated he had alcohol in his system. He was taken to the Slippery Rock University police station for a formal breath test, which determined his blood-alcohol level was 0.196 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.

Haraburda is charged with driving under the influence, following too closely to another vehicle and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.

7:46 p.m. April 28 — A Crawford County man was allegedly more than twice the state’s legal limit for alcohol after a rear-end crash at the main entrance to Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock Township.

No one was injured in the wreck, which left both vehicles with minor damage.

The defendant, Drew C. Durasa, 22, of Saegertown, admitted he had been drinking and that he hit the back of the other car, according to court documents. He also acknowledged that he took the sport utility vehicle he was driving without the owner’s permission.

Police said while investigating the crash they noticed an open case of beer and several empty beer cans in the SUV. Durasa later failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the station for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.192 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.

In addition to driving under the influence, Durasa is charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving with an open container of alcohol and following too closely to another vehicle.

5:45 p.m. Thursday — Ronald A. Dodd, 38, of Karns City was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his estranged wife at her apartment on East Slippery Rock Street.

Police spoke to the victim at Butler Memorial Hospital, where she went after the incident. She told police that Dodd grabbed her by the head and “started squeezing her,” according to court documents. He also is accused of punching her in the nose.

The woman had bruising on her head and neck, police said.

Dodd was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail following arraignment.

May 1 — Police filed drug-related charges against three women in connection with a March traffic stop in Butler.

The car was pulled over about 11 a.m. March 27 because the driver did not use the turn signal when making a turn from South Monroe Street onto East Cunningham Street.

One of the defendants, Rose M. Comly, 52, of Butler, was found with three drug-smoking pipes and a Chore Boy.

The other defendants, Jolena E. Bowser, 39, of Butler; and Trina M. Holderman, 28, of Pitcairn, Allegheny County, were later searched and found with contraband in their bras, according to court documents.

Bowser allegedly had a small bag of suspected crack cocaine and a pipe, and Holderman had a hypodermic needle, two empty stamp bags and a pipe.

All three women are charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Bowser is charged with possession of a controlled substance.
