CHICAGO — The Chicago White Sox reinstated Seneca Valley graduate Kevan Smith from the 10-day disabled list Saturday and optioned him to Charlotte, the club’s Triple-A affiliate.

Smith suffered a sprained ankle in spring training.

Last season, Smith was called up in May and stuck with the White Sox throughout the season, batting .283 in 87 games with four home runs and 30 RBI.

[naviga:h3]A’s Manaea tosses no-hitter Saturday[/naviga:h3]

OAKLAND, Calif — A’s lefty Sean Manaea pitched the first no-hitter against Boston in almost exactly 25 years, with an overturned call preserving the gem Saturday night in Oakland’s 3-0 win over the sizzling Red Sox.

Manaea struck out 10, walked two and threw 108 pitches to finish off Oakland’s first no-no since Dallas Braden tossed a perfect game against Tampa Bay in 2010.

Manaea got Hanley Ramirez to ground out to complete the first no-hitter versus the Red Sox since Seattle’s Chris Bosio did it on April 22, 1993.

NEW YORK — Gleyber Torres had a tough time at the plate in his first major league game.

The prized prospect went 0 for 4 and stranded six runners during his highly anticipated debut for the New York Yankees, who nonetheless cruised to a 5-1 victory Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays.

“I feel good. Super excited,” Torres said afterward.

The 21-year-old infielder played second base and batted eighth in a Yankees lineup that didn’t include a player 30 or older for the first time since Sept. 29, 1989, according to STATS.

[naviga:h3]NBA vet Bogut signs deal in Australia[/naviga:h3]

SYDNEY — NBA veteran Andrew Bogut is set to join the Sydney Kings in Australia’s National Basketball League.

The Sydney club issued a brief statement Monday saying it had submitted paperwork to the NBL for Bogut’s recruitment. The Kings said they’d make no further comment “but will provide an update in due course.”

Speculation about the big Australian center’s pending move to Sydney intensified late Sunday after tweets from the club and from Bogut, who kicked things off with a post that read: “Are there any roster spots left for the upcoming (at)NBL season? Asking for a friend......?”
