A four-panel canvass painting created by three Butler County Community College students was selected in a contest to be hung on a wall in the renovated showroom at Baglier Mazda on Route 68.

Students Tyke Vaughn, Megan Divers and Cole Myers created the winning abstract painting on four 24-by-48-inch panels in five hours of work spread over three classes under the guidance of instructor David Ludwick.

The dealership asked art students from BC3 and Slippery Rock University and the Associated Artists of Butler County to create art to illustrate “dynamics of fluid motion” for the contest. All of the paintings were displayed at the dealership in March.

The winner was determined by a panel of judges and votes cast in the dealership and on its website. Winners received $1,000 and the second and third place finishers each received $250.
