Butler baseball remains torrid

Tornado beat Shaler; Knoch softball falls

The Butler baseball team continues to roll.

Behind a 12-hit attack, the Golden Tornado defeated Shaler 10-5 Wednesday afternoon on the road to improve to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the section.

Nick Kibbie had a pair of hits and two RBI and Ryan Lynn, Connor Ollio, Grant Metzger, Jake Slomers and Garet Banner also drove in runs for Butler.

Brandon Fleeger got the win, striking out six in five innings of work.

Butler will host North Allegheny at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Kelly Automotive Park.

Moniteau 16, Redbank Valley 0 — Wyatt Geibel smacked two of the Warriors' four home runs as Moniteau won this KSAC matchup via mercy rule.

Hunter Fitzingo and Nick Sosigian also went deep for Moniteau.

Chance Nagy earned the win, allowing just one hit and striking out eight.

Amanda Fischer led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run for Knoch, but the rest of the day was a struggle for the Knights in a 10-3 loss to Indiana.

Alley Bush and Aubrey Barbus each homered for Indiana as Knoch fell behind 10-1 after six and a half innings.

Monica Gourley tripled and Olivia Vissari doubled for the Knights (2-1, 1-1).
