With the holiday weekend and spring break taking place immediately after their state championship victory, the Mars girls basketball team had nearly a week to sit back and enjoy their achievement.

However for junior Tai Johnson, whose steal and score with 4.2 seconds left secured Mars' 36-33 victory over Archbishop Wood, that meant the accomplishment didn't feel real until Tuesday morning.

Johnson and her teammates paraded through the halls of the high school Tuesday morning. They carried their trophy as the marching band led the way, the halls lined with students, faculty and staff offering congratulations and applause.
